Image 8- Found Photo

I often draw girls who look quite young, and I like photos of children to work from, often when they have something unusual about them. I really like the leaves wrapped round the face as its like shes hiding behind something so natural and reminds me of girls wearing make up or a mask. I really like the tones too

image 2 : Jessica Williams title: A Self Portrait

I really like this piece of work as I like the way it is coupled. I really like the composition and colours, which make it seem like an old family snapshot. It also looks like maybe the tree has given birth to Jessica, or that maybe that she loves the tree so much that she wants to be inside of it or a part of it.

image 1 - Edwin Ushiro title: "Shelter Under Twinkling Leaves" medium: Mixed size: 20"x25"

This painting is Edwin Ushiro's attempt at recreating and illustrating the colour green that the corrugated metal roof of his Auntie's house reflected. I love how personal this scene is as noone else probably saw his Aunties house the same way. I often use my childhood to draw inspiration from, and I think colours and smells are things I remember most. The way its painted reminds me of smells, crackly and warm smells.
